Hotel Indigo
Hotel Indigo was a beautiful turn of the century building in downtown Baltimore that had housed the city's first YMCA, and was home to a confessed Soviet Spy, Whittaker Chambers, before being turned into a hotel!
Every part of the space had historical significance that the developers wanted to celebrate, and they asked me to design bespoke lighting for the public areas on the first level. My task was to create welcoming and elegant spaces reminiscent of a private club from the early 1900's, where guests could relax and mingle and also enjoy the beautiful views of the city through the floor to ceiling windows. I created fixtures for the entry, the library and the dining area.
